Imagine traveling hours on a dry riverbed winding up the side of a mountain to reach a small village located on an abandoned plantation. It’s taken all morning to get here and now the ministry begins. You work all day with the people in the village, addressing their needs and sharing the good news of Christ with them. You suddenly realize that it’s getting pretty late and we better get down the mountain before it gets too dark. The team works quickly to pack up the clinic and say your goodbyes. You all climb into the vehicle, turn the key and click, click, click… nothing, it’s dead! WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO NOW…
This is a real possibility right now, as the vehicle we are currently using to reach these remote locations is approaching 20 years old.
The Lord has called us to reach those areas that no one currently visits because they are either too far or too difficult to get to. In order for us to do this, we need a safe, reliable, rugged, off-road, 4-wheel drive truck that will be able to hold all of our staff and equipment and that will enable us to travel to these remote villages desperately in need of health care and Christ’s love.
The vehicle pictured above is able to go about anywhere in Guatemala. It is an economical, reliable truck sold in Guatemala and will be equipped with special suspension to handle the rough terrain and special air-intake to hand the wet season.
Would you consider helping us purchase this much needed vehicle?
